The choice car of action hero James Bond, the Aston Martin DB5, has been named Britain's most iconic car of all time, a survey has revealed.
The car that featured in a number of James Bond films, including the last instalment Casino Royale, beat the Jaguar E-Type and the Mini Cooper to the top spot. The sixties classic stood the test of time, however, making it to number three on the list.
Despite being associated with popular TV sitcom Only Fools and Horses, the Reliant Robin was voted the most embarrassing British car of all time.
More than 2,000 car fans were polled in a survey to mark the launch of digital TV channel Dave's new show Car of the Year, which airs at 7pm on Sunday.
When asked whose advice they were most likely to follow when buying a new car, 40% of respondents opted for Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson while one in two said they would consult their father.
Although the majority of drivers said they spent more than 15 hours a week behind the wheel, more than half (53%) said they had cut down on any unnecessary journeys due to the rising cost of fuel.
