BMW recalls thousands of motorbikes

BMW has recalled over 120,000 motorcycles worldwide due to a possible break problem, it has emerged.

Approximately 122,000 machines are involved across a number of versions of six models.

British owners of the bikes received letters saying vibrations could result in the front brake lines developing leaks, allowing brake fluid to escape and potentially causing a failure of the front brakes.

Among the recalled models is the R 1200 FS Adventure, which was ridden by Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor in their 2007 Long Way Down biking adventure.

The R 1200 GS, the R 1200 R, the R 1200 RT, the R 1200 ST and the K 1200 GT are also involved.
