BMW fetches 195% of predicted value

A BMW X6 has sold for much more than its expected price at an auction, amassing 195% of its estimated value.

A pair of 2008 X6 35i XDrive Steptronic went under the hammer at a British Car Auctions event in Edinburgh. The crossover SUVs were expected to rake in £30,000, but one model was finally sold for £58,500.

The second model sold for a higher than predicted cost as well, fetching £58,000. Both models had covered 20,000 miles.

Simon Young, national account manager, BCA, said: "These BMW sales always attract a huge amount of attention from buyers and regularly achieve strong market values on the cars offered.

"However, the values on these two X6 models are exceptional by any standard and underline the power of auction to maximise values when you put the right product in front of the right buyers."
