BMW has revealed that it will be updating its range in the autumn with the introduction of three new models - a new diesel 1 Series and two new 3 Series.
The 114d Sports Hatch is a new entry-level diesel 1 Series. The 1.6-litre diesel engine provides a maximum output of 94bhp and 173lb.ft and it can accelerate from 0-62mph in 12.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 115mph.
The 114d Sports Hatch is fitted as standard with a suite of BMW EfficientDynamics technologies, including Brake Energy Regeneration, Optimum Shift Indicator, Auto Start-Stop, electromechanical power steering, Active Aerodynamics and reduced rolling resistance tyres.
It has an average fuel consumption of 65mpg and CO2 emissions of 112g/km and is available to order now as either a three-door or five-door, although prices are yet to be confirmed.
BMW will also be introducing the first petrol EfficientDynamics 3 Series and a new entry-level petrol 3 Series.
The 320i EfficientDynamics has a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and can do 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds. Its average fuel consumption is 53.3mpg with CO2 emissions of 124g/km.
