Bike recovered in 110-mile pursuit

Stolen vehicle recovery firm Tracker has successfully located a brand new £8,000 Honda CBR 600 after a 110-mile pursuit.

Tracker's effective partnership with all the 52 police forces in the UK has helped it track down the vehicle which was stolen from Lewisham in London.

In its bid to recover the bike, Tracker collaborated with seven different police forces including the Central Motorway Police, and traced the vehicle through Hertfordshire, the Thames Valley, Warwickshire and the West Midlands.

The vehicle, which along with another motorbike travelled up the M1 in the back of a van, was finally located in Earl Shilton near Leicestershire. Air support units too were used in the recovery.

A man was arrested in this connection.

"The speed of recovery when a motorbike is stolen is vital, before it is broken down into parts and sold on for cash. The collaborative approach with the transport police units was essential in this successful recovery. Needless to say the owner was delighted to be reunited with his bike," said Stuart Chapman, Tracker's Police Relationships Manager.
