Skoda's Yeti crossover picked up the big prize at the Car Dealer Magazine Used Car Awards in London.
The Yeti was named the 'Best Performing Used Car of the Year' at the event, which was held at The Brewery in the centre of the capital.
Judges at the annual ceremony praised the Yeti for its minimal depreciation rate and popularity amongst second hand car buyers. They also hailed it as spacious, stylish, reliable and versatile. The Yeti boasts enviable green credentials, with a high level of fuel economy and low carbon footprint.
Every vehicle shortlisted for the awards by Car Dealer magazine was assessed by a jury of leading valuations experts in the industry. The cars were judged on their residual values at three years of age or 36,000 miles.
Chris Horrell, Product Marketing Manager for Skoda UK, said: "We are honoured to have received the award from Car Dealer magazine. This rounds off a very successful year for new and used Yeti vehicles. Residual values have continued to remain strong.
"Yeti has been highly sought after as the model provides a highly attractive package for those in search of excellent value for money, practicality and long-term durability with an eye-catching design to match."
James Batchelor, Editor of Car Dealer added: "The Skoda Yeti has been hot since it was launched with customers lining up to get their hands on one. That desirability has translated to the used car sector too - with dealers reporting that examples of this car don't hang around for long.
"It looks great, is built well and impressively holds onto over 67 per cent of its value after three years."
