The Q1, details of which have not been confirmed by the company so far, is expected to hit shelves in 2012 as other models are lined up for this year.
The Q1 might be a more expensive competitor to the Nissan Juke, as well as the yet-to-be-launched Mini Paceman.
Enthusiasts expect the price of the Q1 to be around £18,000.
Audi could choose from a number of engine options such as the 1.4 TSI direct-injection petrol, with horsepower from 120bhp to 182bhp, as well as the 1.6-litre diesel engine, for the car.
Audi has announced an unprecedented number of vehicles to be launched this year, with a minimum of 13 new models in the line-up such as the A6 as well as a five-door A1.
The Q1 is not expected to be part of the line-up this year, and may very well appear on the road in 2012.
