The Astra GTC is to be fitted with Vauxhall's new quieter, greener 1.6-litre diesel engine - it has been announced.
The three-door coupe will be the latest in the Vauxhall fleet to include the 1.6 CDTi which is already included in the five-door and estate Sports Tourer models.
Delivering fuel economy of up to 68.9mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of between 104g/km and 109g/km, it is likely to be popular with company car drivers and private owners looking to save on road fund tax and car insurance .
With six-speed manual transmission and 136 horsepower, the Sport, Limited Edition and Sri trims include Start/Stop and a braking energy recuperation system as standard.
The Euro 6-compliant 1.6 CDTi boasts a number of engineering improvements to give it low noise and vibration output.
Prices for the Astra GTC start from £22,260 and orders are being taken now.
