Motor enthusiasts will get the chance to have their most interactive experience of the Goodwood Festival of Speed yet, with the launch of a purpose-built smartphone app.
Goodwood's Moving Motor Show partner, Auto Trader, has created the application, which will feature live news updates, a detailed map of the event site, and a customisable event calendar.
However, the app's jewel in the crown comes in the form of an augmented reality motor racing game, which will offer petrol heads a unique taste of the iconic 1.16-mile Goodwood hill climb course 'behind the wheel' of various Lotus models.
App users can either play the game from the comfort of their own home, or they could get the chance to win a new Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde by competing with other users at Auto Trader's Festival of Speed stand.
If that failed to whet the appetite, the app will also give users the chance to meet their favourite racing personalities by using the live Twitter tracker, which will show the exact location of geo-tagged tweets.
The three-day annual event, near Chichester, gets underway on Friday June 28.
