For the second time in a month, a Vauxhall Frontera 4x4 was found abandoned near the top of Mount Snowdon last Thursday.
The car was parked close to the mountain's visitor centre. It follows a similar incident on September 3.
People could jeopardise theircar insurance cover by driving where they are clearly not supposed to.
In light of the latest car abandonment, North Wales Police revealed that a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing criminal damage.
The force added that, pending further inquiries, the man has now been released on police bail.
In order to offer financial support to local mountain rescue teams, eyewitnesses said the 4x4 featured a sign on its windscreen which suggested it will soon go up for sale on the internet.
Following last month's 4x4 abandonment, 39-year-old vehicle owner Craig Anthony Williams, from Cheltenham, was charged with dangerous driving. He is set to appear in court next week.
