What is a classic car?

To get a quote for classic car insurance from RAC, your collectors' car must:

be used as a second car
have been manufactured at least 15 years ago as a standard production model (20 years for some vehicle makes, for example Porsche)
not exceed 7,500 miles a year (you could get a discount if your mileage is lower than this)

cover for competitions, rallies and trials (excluding speed trials, racing and track events)
accidental damage, fire and theft cover
windscreen and window damage cover (Comprehensive cover)
third-party cover for towing a trailer or caravan (Comprehensive cover)
