Two years of new car sales rises

A 3% year-on-year rise in new car sales for February means registrations have increased in every single month in the last two years.
According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) 68,736 new cars were registered last month and the 223,298 sales in January and February represents a 6.1% increase on the corresponding months in 2013.
The improving car industry performance shows how attractive the latest models are and the strength of consumer confidence, SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes said.
He anticipates the "quieter" month of February to be followed by a busy March as registration plates change. The '14' plates and rising economic growth should spur the market on even further, Mr Hawes predicts.
Ford, Vauxhall and Volkswagen continue to be the most successful manufacturers in the UK.
The Ford Fiesta is still the country's best seller, with Vauxhall's Corsa and Astra in second and third place. The Ford Focus has slipped to fourth, ahead of VW's Golf and Polo.
