New Celerio gets ready for Europe

05 Mar 2014 at 12:54

The Suzuki Celerio is getting Europe-ready for when the model hits the continent later this year.

The Japanese manufacturer's European-specification Celerio is a driver-friendly "A+ compact" car. This is a new breed of A-segment car which surpasses its category's standards, while offering all of Suzuki's trademark reliability.

Some models' lightweight, rigid body arrive with best-in-class low CO2 emissions figures of 85 g/km fuelled by the new powertrain.

The European-specification version achieves this via a newly created engine with a dual-injection system.

It benefits from enhanced aerodynamics and less body weight. Versions blending the K10C engine and the Engine Auto Stop Start system offer the 85 g/km benchmark.

The automated manual transmission model includes the newly-devised Auto Gear Shift, which offers fuel economy equivalent to a manual transmission.

The Celerio's latest European-specific model, with an overall length 360cm (11ft 9in), provides an incredibly spacious inside for an A-segment vehicle and a best-in-class 254 litres of cargo capacity.

An Indian-specification Celerio was showcased at last month's Delhi Auto Expo prior to this week's Geneva International Motor Show.
