Hyundai unveils next generation i10

16 Oct 2013 at 10:18

Hyundai has unveiled a new look i10 which will go on sale in the UK in January.

The Korean company says the new model will be a big step forward in terms of comfort, quality and equipment; with all models fitted with six airbags, electric front windows, CD player and daytime running lights as standard. Additionally, all but the most basic models will comes with built-in air conditioning.

Prices for the mark II model will start at £8,345 - the same price as for the current generation.

The new model is longer and wider than its predecessor as well as having a more spacious interior and additional room in the boot. Hyundai also says it makes for a quieter ride inside the cabin, at all speeds.

The 2014 i10 comes with a 1.0 and 1.2-litre engine to choose from in the five-speed manual range, with the 1.0-litre also available in a low-carbon Blue Drive version. The 1.2-litre engine is the only option for those looking for an automatic gearbox.

The current i10 varies between car insurance group eight and 12, and the next generation model should come with a similar rating.
